Citroen C3-XR to go 1.2 Turbo in China

The Citroen C3-XR SUV will get a 1.2 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine under the bonnet. The new unit will have an output of 136hp and 230nm, and it will be mated to a six-speed automatic. The new model will hit the Chinese car market in March.

The Citroen C3-XR is a China-only compact SUV made by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture. It was launched in late 2014. Price starts at 108.800 yuan and ends at 171.800 yuan. Current engines are a 117hp 1.6 and a 167hp 1.6 turbo. The new 1.2 turbo will be positioned in between.
