Geely to enter World Top 500 Enterprises: President

Geely plans to become one of the top 500 enterprises in the world this year, according to Yang Jian, president of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

According to Yang, Geely’s sales volume in 2010 surpassed 415,000 units, realizing last year’s target. The company has also made great breakthroughs in overseas M&A (merging and acquisition), brand image building, zero-defect system, talent education, etc.

Statistics show that Geely has applied for 1,516 patents, growing 61.4 percent year-on-year, among which 1,088 got patent authorization. 39 car models under three brands and 14 engines were shown at the Beijing Auto Show.

“We saw great achievements last year. New models such as Gleagle CROSS, EC718 CVT, EC8, SC5-RV, GX2 has been launched,”Yang Jian told the reporter. The J.D. Power IQS reported that Emgrand and Gleagle series both scored higher than their counterparts of the category. Besides, the call center of Geely was also prized as “Best service”.

Yang expects Geely to realize a target of year-on-year production and sales growth of over 18 percent this year. In 2011, Geely will enter auto markets in western countries and build a global production, marketing, and service network.
