Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroën recalls 38,000 cars in China

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co. started the recall of two models from Saturday, a total of 37,699 units, according to a circular released on the website of China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

Some 11,116 units of Dongfeng Peugeot 307, which were manufactured from October 11, 2010 to September 2, 2010, were recalled due to a technology defect in airbags. And 26,583 units of Dongfeng Peugeot 408 (2.0L) manufactured between November 11, 2009 and November 16, 2010 were recalled due to battery cable flaws.

The company will provide free repair service to the cars.

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co. is a joint venture (JV) co-founded by PSA Peugeot-Citroen, UG.FR and Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd.
