Beijing has started a trial with 50 electric taxi’s. The cars are made by BeiQi – Futian and based on the Midi small MPV. Range is 140 kilometer, charging at a fast-charge station takes just 30 minutes for 80% battery. A full charge on 220v takes 6 to 8 hours. Beijing is where I live, hopefully I can make a ride in one of those 50 cars this week to tell you first hand how it all works.
