The China-made Suzuki Vitara has been unveiled on the 2015 Chengdu Auto Show, looking very clean in light blue and a nicely shiny grille. The Suzuki Vitara is manufactured in China by the Changan-Suzuki joint venture, marking the first time the Vitara is made locally. Chinese name is Weitela (维特拉),

The Changan-Suzuki Vitara will launched on the Chinese car market near year’s end. It will be available with two four-cylinder petrol engines: a 122hp 1.6 and a new 140hp ‘T Booster Jet’ 1.4 turbo with 140hp, both mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, sending power to all four wheels via the ‘All Grip’ all-wheel drive system. Price will start around 130.000 yuan.

There was only one car on the booth with locked doors and blacked out windows, indicating the Vitara isn’t quite ready for production yet. Muffler seems to hang loose under the bumper.

Full right to brag in the bar: ‘T Booster Jet All Grip’. On a new Suzuki for China.
