Alfa Romeo has applied for patent on the Alfa Romeo 4C in China, indicating the speedy two-seater might be launched on the Chinese auto market. Alfa Romeo currently doesn’t sell any cars in China. The brand launched with much fanfare on the 2011 Guangzhou Auto Show but didn’t follow up with any actual cars.

Alfa Romeo is one of the very few automakers that is not represented in China, and Fiat wants to change that as soon as possible. The 4C could be the icebreaker Alfa needs to open up the Chinese market. Power comes from a high tech 1.7 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with 241hp, good for a 250km/h top speed. The 4C is already a popular car in China, blogs and twitter-clones are full with the thing.
