New spy shots showing the facelifted BYD G6 sedan, it will be launched on the China car market later this year. The facelift includes a completely new front with a fat chromed grille and a very sporty bumper with a low hanging black lip. Five-spoke alloys look very speedy too, BYD clearly trying to find a younger audience for the G6.

This is the current BYD G6, boring in brown… Price starts at 79.800 and ends at 115.800. Engines: 2.0 with 140 hp and a 1.5 turbo with 154hp. The 2.0 is only available with a 5-speed manual, the 1,5 turbo comes with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT.

These engines will continue in the facelifted BYD G6 and they will be joined by this:

A brand new 2.0 turbocharged four-cylinder with 205hp and 320nm, mated to a 6-speed DCT. This new engine also powers the upcoming BYD S7 SUV. The 2.0 turbo will move the price of the G6 upwards to about 145.000 yuan, which will make this the most expensive BYD branded sedan ever.

TID has nothing to do with diesel, but means ‘Turbo, (direct) Injection, DCT.’
