Spy Shots: Changan Eado EV to debut on the Beijing Auto Show

The very first spy shot of the Changan Eado EV, a full electric vehicle based on the Changan Eado sedan. The Changan Eado EV will debut on the Beijing Auto Show in April featuring a blue painted grille, because green. Power comes from an electric motor with 120hp, mated to a CVT, and the juice is carried in a lithium-ion battery. At the same time Changan is also working on the Changan Eado Hybrid which is expected to debut in Beijing as well.

The petrol powered Chang’an Eado sedan which was launched on the Chinese car market in March 2012. Price starts at 74.900 yuan and ends at 117.900 yuan. Power comes from a 124hp 1.6 or a 150hp 1.5 turbo. The Changan Eado XT hatchback was launched last August.

Price for the EV version will start around 150.000 yuan without subsidies. It is however not yet clear whether the EV will be launched on the general market or only as a small-batch demonstration project.
