Spy Shots: FAW-Besturn B30 testing in China

New spy shots of the the upcoming FAW-Besturn B30, a new entry-level sedan for FAW’s Besturn brand, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in 2014. The Besturn B30 will be based on the old Volkswagen Bora which was made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture.

Chinese media say the Besturn B30 will be powered by FAW-developed engines from a new ‘4GB’ engine family. The B30 will get a 1.3 and a 1.5, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Earlier on we heard the B30 would be powered by the old 106hp 1.6 from the old Bora.

Interior looks very Volkswagen-ish, up to the gear lever. The center console however is slightly different with what seems to be a large screen which is so important on the Chinese car market at the moment. No big screen, no sale…
