Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz E Class L is ready for the Chinese car market

New spy shots showing the new Mercedes-Benz E Class L, the China-only stretched variant of the E-Class. The new E Class L debuted on the Shanghai Auto Show in April, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in July, priced between 400.000 and 750.000 yuan. … a more traditional variant. The China-made E will be available with the following engines: 184hp 1.8 turbo (E200L), 204hp 1.8 turbo (E260L), 231hp 3.0 V6 (E300L), and the flagship 333hp E400L Hybrid. The E Class L is stretched by 11 centimeter in the middle for more space in the back. It is made in China by the Beijing-Benz joint venture that also makes the C-Class and the GLK.

The E Class L competes head-to-head with the Audi A6L, the BMW 5Li and the Volvo S80L.
