Spy Shots: new BMW X5 testing in China
The new BMW X5 will debut internationally on the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, debut in China is expected for the Guangzhou Auto Show in December. The BMW X5 is a very popular SUV in China so BMW wants to make sure it behaves well under Chinese road conditions.
The BMW X5 is the third best-selling luxury SUV on the Chinese car market, right behind the Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Sport. The new BMW X5 will be slightly bigger than the current car. BMW is also working on an even bigger X7 to compete more directly with the Audi Q7. Chinese car buyers will like an X7, as long as its engines are bigger too. The China-bound new BMW X5 will be powered by the 2.0T, the 3.0T or the 4.4T. The manic BMW X5M will be available as well.
