The Geely Emgrand EX8 SUV has been around since it debuted in 2009 as a concept car on the Shanghai Auto Show. It takes Geely very long to get the EX8 in production. The new SUV was expected to hit the market early this year, but was delayed and delayed again. New reports in Chinese media indicate the Geely Emgrand EX8 will finally make it to the Chinese auto market next year.

It is not that Geely changed much, the vehicle loox 99% the same as the 2009 concept. The Emgrand EX will be (under) powered by a 2.4 liter four-cylinder with 150hp and 210nm, mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. Drivetrain is 4×4. The whole setup seems out of time, small capacity turbocharged engines are the rage today, the old 2.4 dates back to a 1990’s Mitsubishi engine. But!, it doesn’t look that bad. It’s a big car that can seat seven: 4840/1845/1715, wheelbase is 2800.
