Ford Explorer to come to China in 2013
The Ford Explorer will be launched on the Chinese car market next year, it will be imported and sold via the Chang’an-Ford dealer network. Earlier on we heard the Ford Explorer would be made in China from 2015 by the the Jiangling-Ford joint venture.
The reason that Ford will import the Explorer first is the grey market that is already importing Explorers and earning big bucks. Ford wants that pie! Now for the Mustang… On the grey market price for the Explorer ranges from 780.000 to 830.000 yuan. Ford will have to go a bit lower than that to kick to grey men out of business. The locally made Exlorer will likely cost less than 600.000 yuan.
