The last-gen Ford Focus is still in production in China, called ‘Focus Classic‘. It is currently only available with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. But that is about to change, Ford is working to get the new and very modern six-speed ‘Powershift’ DSG in the old Focus.

It all doesn’t look very well, let’s hope this messy set-up is just for testing. Ford, and other European car makers, are in a hurry to upgrade their transmissions. Local Chinese auto makers such as BYD and Geely are offering DSG-boxes in cars that cost around 100.000 yuan. The Focus Classic with SDG is expected to be launched on the China auto market in early 2013.
