The Sanhe Classic Car Museum in Chengdu, an Introduction
Last week I was a couple of days in the great city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province. Very busy with such and such but I managed to sneak out for a few hours for a visit to the fantastic Sanhe Classic Car Museum. The ‘Sanhe Group‘ is a major car dealer in Chengdu, selling, among others, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Rolls-Rolls. The museum sits kinda hidden between large dealer-buildings, workplaces and parking lots full of cars. Inside the museum eight very special cars. But!, they also have a secret garage where another 35 invaluable classic cars are stored, all ‘rebuild’ by Sanhe. I was invited to have a very good look.
The secret garage with a fine 1980’s Excalibur-Benz. Lot of Hongqi, lot of ZIL, many Benz, Jeeps, a real Humvee from the first Gulf War, majestic Daimlers and whatnot more. I took a zillion pics in the museum and the garage, and another zillion outside where many other interesting cars were parked.
