New Hyundai Elantra will hit the China auto market on August 23

The new Hyundai Elantra debuted in April on the Beijing Auto Show, it will be launched on the Chinese auto market on August 23. It is called ‘Elantra Langdong’ in China to differ this new car with two older Elantra’s that are still in production in China. All Elantra’s are made by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.

The Chinese-market Elantra is four centimeters longer than the Elantra sold in the rest of the world. The extra space goes to passengers in the back. The grille is also different, the Chinese version got much more chrome which is still very popular in China, showing off with an Elantra! Power: 127hp 1.6 or a 140hp 1.8, mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. Chinese media says price will range from 120.000 to 170.000 yuan and that is plus 20.000 compared to earlier reports.
