Xiaomi YU7 set to offer 26 wheel options

According to the latest filings with MIIT, Xiaomi’s upcoming YU7 electric vehicle has 26 wheel options. With an overall shape leaning toward a sporty crossover SUV, the YU7 is always dubbed as a “Model Y killer” in China.

The updated list of vehicle changes reveals a variety of new wheel designs for the YU7, including five-spoke petal-shaped wheels, six-spoke wheels, and a significant number of low-drag options.

The MIIT filing indicates that Xiaomi offers 20 different color choices for the low-drag wheels. The color palette spans purple, white, blue, green, and red hues, offering various customization possibilities.

Beyond the vibrant wheel options, the YU7 will offer optional features such as a roof-mounted rear spoiler, a ducktail spoiler, and carbon fiber accents. The filings also mention front hood trim, window frame trim, and “HAD” (Xiaomi’s Highway Autonomous Driving) lettering on the side doors as available options.

The Xiaomi YU7 previously appeared in MIIT filings, revealing both single-motor and dual-motor versions. The vehicle is expected to officially launch between June and July this year. Different range figures have been listed, including 770/760/675km, 760/750/670km, and 820/810/725km, likely representing various configurations or testing conditions.

The Xiaomi YU7 is classified as a mid-to-large SUV, with dimensions of 4999mm/1996mm/1608mm(1600mm). The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version boasts a front motor with a maximum power of 220kW and a rear motor with 288kW, resulting in a combined output of 508kW (691 horsepower). This variant has a top speed of 253km/h and utilizes a ternary lithium battery. The single-motor, rear-wheel-drive version has a maximum power of 235kW, a top speed of 240km/h, and is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery.
