China’s patent bureau is leaking again, this time with pics from the upcoming Beijing Auto C50 which is based on the old Saab 9-3. When this car debuted as a concept at the Beijing Auto Show in 2010 it was called C60, but according to new reports from Chinese media the name has changed to C50. It will likely debut at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show next month, alongside the C70G that is based on the old Saab 9-5.

Power comes from the Saab-original 2.0 turbo engine, the C70G will be powered by the 2.3 turbo engine. Beijing Auto has no other engines in house that might fit in the C50 or C70G. Both engines are fine machines but by now over a decade old and so is the rest of the car.
