On December 23, Xiaomi announced that its Xiaomi SU7 has received the Xiaomi HyperOS 1.4.5 version OTA updates, with a total of 13 new features and 26 experience optimizations, which includes the ability to use the car’s front camera for video calls when a Xiaomi phone is connected to the car.

The eligible Xiaomi phone needs to be equipped with either the Xiaomi HyperOS 2 or HyperOS 1 system, and the corresponding HyperConnect 16.0.0+ or 15.3.2+, respectively.

Smart cockpit

The car interconnection has added the functions that when making VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) calls via Bluetooth, the microphone in the car is turned off on the call page to protect privacy and security; as well as quick login ultilizing connected Bluetooth keys without scanning the login code.

In terms of charging experience, the update introduces charging station data from partner brands including Nio, Li Auto, and Xpeng. The data include busy and idle status, power, price, and parking fees. Users can also filter charging stations based on criteria such as free parking, power range, and availability.

Optimizations were also made to the driving experience, to name a few:

• When the electric rear wing is set to Automatic, the rear wing logic changes from speed-following to following driving mode control. If Automatic is not selected, the rear wing will not follow the driving mode.
• If user wants to open the trunk while the rear wing is moving, the trunk will be opened first and the movement of the rear wing will be stopped; after closing the trunk again, the rear wing will return to its original position.
• Added turning direction guidance in the turning image to help users quickly determine the viewing angle.

Intelligent driving

City navigation assistance functions were deployed including improved speed and trajectory detection of vehicle and pedestrian, smoothness of longitudinal acceleration and deceleration, stability of traffic light detection, and intersection lane selection logic. Other optimizations were made in road environment recognition such as identifying construction areas and remind the driver to pay attention to safety through text and voice as well as adding a new remote control smart parking function and automatically turn off the turn signal after the vehicle completes the lane change.
