These are the very first pictures of the China-made 3th-gen Toyota Prius, made by the FAW-Toyota joint venture. The Prius will be listed on the China car market in February. The 2nd-gen Prius was also made in China but it was far too expensive, sales were so low that Toyota canceled production. Toyota will price the Prius lower this time to get sales up. High hopes indeed…

There hasn’t been any successful hybrid or EV on the Chinese market. BYD tried with a hybrid F3 but it didn’t sell. Others tried as well, hybrids and EV’s, but all were canceled again. As for now there is only one full electric vehicle on sale; the BYD e6. Sales are very low and will stay very low until buyers can find a place to charge their car, which at this moment they can’t.
