China-made Fiat C-Medium will arrive in Q3 next year

Mr. Zheng Xiancong, general manager of the Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture, spoke to Chinese media about the upcoming Fiat C-Medium sedan. It will arrive in the third quarter of 2012, it will be based on the modular C-EVO platform that also underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Dodge Dart.

Mr. Zheng (pic) also confirmed the size of the C-Medium: 4650/1790/1500mm, with a wheelbase of 2703mm (wheelbase 10 cm longer than Giulietta). Power will come from Fiat’s 1.4 ‘Fire T-jet’ turbocharged engine with two different tunes: 88kw and 210nm and 110kw and 230nm, mated to a 6-speed ‘DDCT-C635’ dual clutch transmission. The engine will be made in China as well.
