Seen a couple of days ago on my way to work. This is a brand-new Beijing Auto Weiwang 306 min-van in police livery. The Weiwang-brand was launched back in March and this was the first time I saw one in the wild. Weiwang is focused on minicars and minivans with small engines and a lotta space. In Chinese those sorta vans are called ‘mianbaoche’, or bread-car, because their shape is similar the a steamed bun.

Rear windows blacked out. I peeped inside and there was indeed some kinda cage for the bad men. Taken downtown in a Weiwang, things couldn’t be much worse for a criminal career me think. Weiwang will compete with minicarmakers such as Wuling and Chang’an. The 306 measures 4030x1636x1907, wheelbase is 2700. Engine: 1.3 with 81hp and 102nm. Max cargo space: 5.01 cubic meter. A nice little van it is.
