The Audi A6L is made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. Its wheelbase is about ten centimeters longer than a standard A6, all extra space goes to the passengers in the back. The standard A6 is not made in China but the more powerful S and RS cars will be imported.

There will be four engines, all TSI: 2.0, 2.5, 2.8 and 3.0. The current 2.4 V6 which has been in Chinese-Audi service for many years will no longer be available. The new Audi A6L will debut at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

Compared with standard A6.
