Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter testing in China

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van will come to China. It will be made locally by the Fujian-Daimler joint venture that also makes the Viano and Vito vans. The Sprinter will be listed in Q3.

Spy shots indicate Mercedes is aiming at VIP passenger transport. Huge aircon units on the roof. There will also be Sprinter-based ambulances and other special purpose vehicles. Fujian-Daimler also makes SPV’s based on the Vito.

Engines for China: 2.1 diesel, 2.2 turbodiesel, 2.7 diesel, 2.3 patrol and maybe the 3.5 patrol.
