A HQ-7 SAM launch vehicle stops at a gas station for some diesel. The HQ-7 is a short range air defense system normally loaded with four missiles which are not installed on the vehicle on pic. The missile has a max speed of Mach 2.3 and a range of 12 kilometers.The vehicle itself stands on a 4×4 chassis for work in rough terrain where the enemy does not expect it. There is also a heavier 6×6 variant. During the 2008 Olympic Games several HQ-7’s were stationed around the Bird’s Nest stadium to take care of those terrorist who didn’t like pole vaulting.
