On December 21st, Dongfeng brand Forthing officially launched the Xinghai S7 650 Supreme Edition priced at 149,900 yuan (20,500 USD). Positioned as a mid-to-large all-electric vehicle, the new model offers a CLTC range of 650 km.
In addition to the new all-electric model, Dongfeng also announced the pre-sale price of the extended-range version of the Forthing Xinghai S7 starting at 134,900 yuan (18,400 USD). The extended-range model is equipped with a 1.5T range extender, providing a pure electric range of 235 kilometers and a combined range of 1,250 kilometers.

The Forthing Xinghai S7 was originally launched on September 26th of this year as a mid-to-large fully electric vehicle. The model originally launched with three versions, each starting at 119,800 yuan (17,100 USD), 129,800 yuan (129,800 USD), and 139,800 yuan (19,950 USD), respectively. They all featured a CLTC range of 555 km.
Not much has changed with the exterior design. The Xinghai S7 adopts a closed front grille design, with headlights seamlessly integrated into the heat dissipation openings on both sides of the front bumper. Below the bumper, a trapezoidal air intake further enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency.
The vehicle measures at 4935/1915/1495 mm, with a wheelbase of 2915 mm. Standard equipment includes 19-inch wheels, with a drag coefficient of just 0.191. The car comes equipped with an electric tailgate as standard, with a trunk capacity at 541 liters.
The interior design is designed with a minimalist aesthetic, replacing most physical buttons with digital controls. Key features include a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel, an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch central multimedia touchscreen. Upgrades over the current model include multi-layer soundproof glass, steering wheel heating, and a 64-color ambient lighting system.
The Xinghai S7 650 Supreme Edition is powered by a single rear-mounted motor, delivering 200 kW of maximum power and achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.9 seconds. Its 70.26 kWh battery provides a CLTC range of 650 kilometers. The new model also includes adjustable suspension for improved comfort.
