On December 9, Changan’s Nevo (known as Qiyuan in China) brand released the official images of its new generation SUV, codenamed C798. The vehicle is likely to be positioned as both an all-electric and plug-in hybrid. According to previous news, the Nevo C798 is nearly 5 meters long and is expected to debut before the end of the year.

Earlier on December 6, Nevo teased the C798 with a text that said: “The Book of Songs says ‘like cutting, like polishing, like carving, like grinding,’ 40 years of car manufacturing… the masterpiece of time.”

Taking a closer look at the exterior, the closed front face is equipped with an LED light strip that runs across laterally, creating a layered visual effect with the slender headlights. The luminous Nevo brand logo is located at the center and the front hood is decorated with ribs. Additionally, the roof has a windshield lidar, indicating that the Nevo C798 will be equipped with advanced driving assistance functions.

At the rear, the Nevo C798 adopts a through-type taillight and a layered shape on both sides, making it highly recognizable.

From the side, the body adopts a floating roof design and the popular hidden door handles.

As for the interior, referring to the previously exposed spy photo, we can see that the steering wheel is flat-bottom, paired with a large central control screen and a clean center console that comes with two cup holders and wireless charging panels. An instrument panel is absent.

At this time, the specific powertrain specifications have been not revealed. We expect that the Nevo C798 will be included in the next batch of declaration catalogs of the Chinese MIIT. Stay tuned for more information!

In November, Changan’s new energy vehicle sales exceeded 100,000 units for the first time and exceeded 640,000 units from January to November. More specifically, Changan Nevo sold 18,455 units in November. Currently, Changan Nevo has the A07, A05, Q05, and E07 on the market, covering pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and range-extender variants. Can the Nevo C798 further increase the brand’s sales?
