BYD ATTO 3

Most cars sold by BYD in Israel are ATTO 3, 5,602 vehicles, the primary export model of BYD. The starting price of ATTO 3 in Israel is 163,500 ILS (45,400 USD). As a comparison, the starting price of ATTO 3 in China is 139,800 RMB (20,100 USD), and the starting price in Europe is 38,000 EUR (41,400 USD).

In Q1 2023, BYD’s other two cars, Han and Tang, were launched in Israel. BYD Han has delivered 88 vehicles, starting at 335,000 ILS (92,600 USD). BYD Tang has delivered 162 cars, starting at 316,000 ILS (87,400 USD).

BYD exported 38,723 vehicles in Q1, 14 times more than Q1 the previous year, more than 30,000 of which were ATTO 3. Approximately 15% of these cars are exported to Israel. Given the sales number, Israel has been BYD’s most prominent EV sales place besides China and Thailand.

In Q1 2023, the top three car brands in Israel were HyundaiKia, and Toyota, with 18,227 vehicles, 12,265 vehicles, and 8,664 vehicles sold, respectively. Two Chinese automakers are ranked in the top ten, with BYD fifth and Chery seventh. Interestingly enough, BYD and Chery only entered the Israeli market in 2022.

Best Selling Top 10 Brands in Israel in Q1 2023

Editor’s Comment

Israel will ban the sale of fuel vehicles after 2030 to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions. This means that EV sales share will continue to increase in the next few years. In the field of EVs, in the Q1 of this year, the car importer delivered 16,500 new electric cars in Israel. However, in the entire year of 2022, 27,671 electric vehicles were delivered in Israel. The delivery volume in Q1 this year is equivalent to 60% of last year’s, and at this growth rate, Israel is expected to sell over 50,000 EVs in 2023.
