Skoda Kamiq

New photos of the upcoming Skoda Kamiq crossover for China. The Kamiq will have its public debut later this month on the 2018 Beijing Auto Show and launch on the Chinese car market in June. Interestingly, the Skoda Kamiq has a rather large lip under the bumper.

Really exceptionally large and oddly shaped in the middle. What is going on here..?

The Skoda Kamiq will be positioned below the upcoming Skoda Karoq SUV. Power will come from a 1.5 liter petrol with 110 hp. Size: 4390/1781/1593, and wheelbase is 2610. The Kamiq is made in China by the Shanghai-VW joint venture. Price will start around 90,000 yuan or $14,000.

First photo of the interior, showing a tiny 7 or 8 inch screen, old fashioned analog dials, a large round steering wheel, and in this car a manual gearbox.

The Kamiq has to bring young first-car buyers to the Skoda brand. But is the Kamiq exciting enough for that..? The main competition in this segment comes from Chinese brands, most of which are trying to design something more special. And the definitely have bigger touch screens than the Skoda.

An earlier picture of a white Kamiq, note again that giant lip.

It is even visible from the side.

The new Skoda Kamiq for China. We will check out the lip in person on the Beijing Auto Show.
