This is the new Buick GL6 MPV for China. It will debut on the Chengdu Auto Show in late August and launch on the Chinese auto market in November. The GL6 is based on the Opel Zafira Tourer; it was developed before General Motors sold the Opel brand to PSA.
The Buick GL6 will be positioned below the big barge Buick GL8. The market for this kind of mid-size MPVs is growing fast so Buick chooses a good moment to enter the GL6. It will be available with 5 or six seats. There won’t be a 7-seat option. Power will come from a steamy 1.3 turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with 156hp. Size: 4692/1794/1626, and wheelbase is 2796.
A rather anonymous rear end. The biggest excitement comes from the shark fin antenna.
The Buick GL6 will be manufactured in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. It is a China-only model that won’t be marketed in any other country.
