We have seen a many endlessly long car transport trucks but today we have a new King of Country, and likely of the World. This enormous monster was Spotted in China near the great city of Xiamen in Fujian Province by Reader Jos T., thank you for the pictures! The truck seems about 30 meters long and doesn’t really fit in one frame.
This truck never stops. The logo’s on the right side, on the right of the open area, are of Volkswagen and First Auto Works (FAW), indicating that this car park on wheels transports cars manufactured by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. The truck is empty, likely delivered its load. FAW-VW has factories in Changchin, Chengdu, and in Guangzhou, none of them near to Xiamen.
And there, finally, the tractor. A red FAW flat nose with a sleeper cab. It appears to be a FAW Jiefang J6, powered by a 12.5 liter (!) 460hp six-cylinder diesel engine. That should be enough to pull a full load, but it won’t be fast…
Jos had to use his panoramic mode to get the entire truck into view! Brilliant photo. The truck isn’t very wide but it has two floors, so I guesstimate it can take about 15 cars. Impressive! But what if it would have a go with minivans? Would it brake the record? Likely so, likely so…
