Locally Made Jeep Renegade Launched In China

The locally made Jeep Renegade subcompact crossover has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 141,800 yuan and ends at 178,880 yuan ($21,500 – 27,100).

The Renegade is manufactured in a new plant in Guangzhou City in southern Guangdong Province. The plant is operated by GAC Fiat, commonly known as Guangzhou-Fiat, a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Corporation (GAC) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). It has an annual capacity of 160,000 vehicles. The Renegade in based on FCA’s Small Wide 4×4 platform that also underpins the Fiat 500X and Fiat 500L, which will likely be made in China as well.
