With all the hype surrounding the Haval SUV brand one could be forgiven to forget that Great Wall Motors is still selling a flock of sedans and hatchbacks under the Great Wall brand (Voleex is long dead). One of these sedans is the Great Wall C30, and it is going electric. Note blue bar in the grille. Blue = green.

This is the petrol powered C30. No blue. Or green. Price starts at 54.900 yuan and ends at 79.500 yuan. Lone engine is a 106hp 1.5 petrol mated to a five-speed manual. They used to sell a six-speed auto as well, but it has disappeared from the lineup.

Power will come from an electric motor with 122hp, more horses than the petrol engine has! That is rare, as the electric motor is normally less powerful than the petrol engine. There will be two battery packs available, one will bring the C30 200 kilometers far, and a more expensive variant will go 260 kilometer. No word yet on top speed, no word yet on price. Launch is expected for the second half of the year.
