The new Geely Emgrand GX9 Pride SUV has been launched on the Chinese auto market. Price starts at 122.900 yuan and ends at 152.900 yuan, positioning the Emgrand GX9 at the high-end of the cheap-SUV market.
The Geely Emgrand GX9 Pride was previously known as the Geely Emgrand EX8. The Emgrand EX8 debuted as a concept on the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show and the final shape hasn’t changed bar for the new Emgrand logo.
Unlike the exterior the interior did improve a lot, with a new instrument binnacle, a new center console with a large touch screen, and some nice wood and alu detailing. Compare to 2009.
Power comes from a Mitsubishi-sourced 2.4 liter four-cylinder petrol Sirion engine with 162hp and 210nm, mated to a six-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual. Size: 4844/1884/1762, wheelbase is 2804. The GX9 Pride is a five-seater but is also available with an extra bench that will fit two small children or a grandma.
Not a bad looking car for 2009. But 2014..?
