The Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost has been launched on the China car market, priced at 122.900 yuan. The 1.0 Ecoboost is only available in the high-end S version and has been positioned on top of the Fiesta range in China. The 1.0 liter 3-cylinder has an output of 126hp and 170nm, and is mated to a 6-speed DCT.

The Ford Fiesta is manufactured in China by the Changan-Ford joint venture. The rest of the range is priced from 63.900 yuan to 119.100 yuan and powered by a 1.5 liter four-cylinder with 115hp and 140nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed DCT.

Interestingly, official Chinese fuel consumption numbers say the 1.0 is more thirsty (6.81 L/100 km) than the 1.5 (5.9 L/100 km). This makes the 1.0 Ecoboost a bit of a hard sell; it is more expensive, only marginally more powerful, and won’t earn the extra money back at the pump. This is likely why the 1.0 comes only in S-spec, with Ford focusing on sporty and not on fuel.
