Venucia has confirmed it is working on a cheap SUV for the China car market. The SUV will be launched next year. The SUV will not be based on the Nissan Qashqai. Venucia is a sub-brand of the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, which, among many other Nissans, builds the Qashqai.

Venucia currently makes the D50 sedan and the R50 hatchback, both based on the old Nissan Tiida. Next up is the Venucia R60 based on the old Nissan Lavina. The Venucia brand is doing reasonable well, it sold 43.673 cars over the first six months of this year, up 50.7% compared to the last six months of 2012.
