SouEast Automotive has announced it will launch a sporty SUV on the Chinese car market in 2015, priced between 100.000 and 150.000 yuan and powered by 1.5 turbo and 1.8 turbo engines. The SUV will be based on the same platform as the SouEast V5 and SouEast V6. The platform comes from the Mitsubishi Lancer which is made in China by the SouEast-Mitsubishi joint venture. The market segment for 100-150.000 yuan SUV’s is getting more crowded by the day; competition is fierce, margins are low, but numbers can be very high.
