Dongfeng-Nissan will recall its 2011 Nissan Sunny passenger vehicles due to defects in the sunroof design, China’s quality watchdog said Friday.

The recall will affect 24,146 vehicles produced from Feb 22 to June 4 last year, according to a statement issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine (GAQSIQ).

The statement said the vehicles’ sunroof structure poses a safety risk because the glass was not sufficiently fastened with the frame. The company will make the repairs for free.

The recall begins from Nov 9, said the statement. Car owners can contact the company via a telephone hotline (800-830-8899) or the official website of the GAQSIQ (www.aqsiq.gov.cn).
