The new Roewe 950 was launched on the Chinese auto market in April but the old Roewe 750 still soldiers on. New spy shots show a 750 wearing Shanghai-badges, indicating SAIC wants to sell the 750 under the yet to be resurrected Shanghai-brand. Much earlier on we saw spy shots from a Roewe 950 wearing Shanghai badges but it hasn’t be launched yet.

The Roewe 750 was launched on in 2006 and is based on the ancient Rover 75. Price starts at 162.800 yuan and ends at 189.800 yuan. Lone engine is the 160hp 1.8 turbo, the 184hp Rover-designed 2.5 V6 is no longer available. What SAIC exactly wants with this Shanghai ‘750’ is not very clear, Chinese media speculates it is to make the Chinese government happy, which wants to see more ‘Chinese’ auto brands.
