Driving a Japanese car can still be dangerous in China, no matter whether it is made locally or not. This is Mazda 6, made in China by the FAW-Mazda joint venture, with an interesting sticker hiding the Mazda logo’s up front and on the back. Text says: Diaoyu Dao shi Zhongguo de, meaning ‘(the) Diaoyu Islands are Chinese’, referring to the rocks China and Japan are fighting for so fiercely.

Well, nobody will be fooled but the stickers might save the vehicle when the shit hits the fan again. Until late last week many Japanese cars were beaten to nil or burned, especially down south, and the owners were lucky to escape without getting hurt. Thing have calmed down a bit but this driver probably didn’t want to take any risk…
