Spy Shots: Skoda Rapid testing in China

The Skoda Rapid it is based on the same PQ25 platform that underpins the new Shanghai-Volkswagen Santana and the new Volkswagen Jetta which will be made by FAW-Volkswagen. Volkswagen is beginning to look like Chery with all these similar and similar priced small sedans… Engines for the China-made Rapid: 1.2 TFSI and 1.4 TFSI.

Price will start around 80.000 yuan, slightly more expensive than the Jetta which will cover the cheap end of the range. Yup, that’s a Volkswagen going cheap and a Skoda going expensive, what happened to this world?
