The Ford Ecosport compact SUV debuted early this month at the New Delhi Auto Expo. It will be made in Europe, India and China. In China it will be made by the Chang’an-Ford joint venture, it will hit the market in late 2012, just in time to compete head-on with the Buick Encore.

The Ford Ecosport in India. power will come from a brand-new a 1 liter three cylinder EcoBoost engine with 120hp and 170nm. Not so sure about that one for China since the Chinese car buyers associate three-cylinders with crappy Xiali’s from the past. Ford better offer a bigger four-cylinder as well. Price will range from 100.000 to 150.000 yuan.
