The new Cadillac XTS sedan will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Production will bgegin near the end of the year. Price is expected to start around 400.000 yuan. The XTS stands on an extended Epsillon II platform, a platform that is already used in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture for the Buick Regal, Buick Lacrosse and the Chevrolet Malibu. The XTS has to compete with the locally made BMW 5-series, Benz E-class, Audi A6 and Volvo S80.

Cadillac SLS China

Cadillac currently only makes the aging SLS in China (with 2.0 turbo engine!). There are big new plans however, GM is betting heavy on Cadillac for the Chinese market to get a share of the lucrative luxury market. The SR-X crossover, Caddy’s best seller at the moment, will likely see local production as well.
