New spy shots of the upcoming SouEast V5 sedan. The V5 has been around for many years as a concept and is SouEast first self-designed car. All other SouEast vehicles are basically no more than rebadged Mitsubishi’s. The platform for the V5 though ain’t self developed yet, it will be based on the platform of the Mitsubishi Galant.

The V5 will be powered by a Mitsubishi-sourced 1.8 with 144hp and 178nm, mated to a CVT. Price will start around 120.000 yuan. SouEast has access to all this Mitsubishi-tech thanks to the SouEast-Mitsubishi joint venture that makes various Mitsubishi’s for the Chinese market, including the Lancer and the Galant.
