BMW is testing the new extended BMW 3-series in China, it will be called 3Li and made locally by the Brilliance-BMW joint venture. Wheelbase is extended by some 10 centimeters for more room in the back.

Brilliance-BMW also makes the 5Li, and extended 5-series. The standard wheelbase 5-series is not made in China, the standard 3 won’t be made in China either. Those who for whatever reason really want a short-wheelbase car have to go for an import.
