SAIC Motor’s auto sales up 11.77% in Jan-Oct

SAIC Motor Corp Ltd, China’s No 1 car maker, sold 3.32 million vehicles in the first ten months of this year, 11.77 percent more than a year earlier, sources reported. In October, the firm’s auto sales reached 343,443 units, 11 percent more than that of the same period of last year.

Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd, a 50-50 joint venture set up with Volkswagen AG, sold 100,391 cars in October, up 9 percent year-on-year.

Shanghai General Motors Co Ltd, a JV established with General Motors, sold 107,431 cars last month, increasing 6.5 percent from a year earlier.

SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co, three-way joint venture set up by SAIC Motor, Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Ltd and General Motors, saw its sales rise 19.2 percent year on year to 113,139 units.

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Co delivered 12,007 vehicles last month, 7 percent more than in the same period of last year.
