Work continues on the Brilliance A3 (codename) SUV. It was supposed to debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. It didn’t, rumors said because joint venture partner BMW thought the A3 looked too much line the BMW X1. The A3 seen on recent spy shots however loox almost exactly like the SUV on Brilliance’s first press pics that made BMW so angry.

The A3 SUV stands on the same platform as the Brilliance H530 sedan. Power comes from a Mitsubishi-sourced 1.6 with 119hp and 151nm. Brilliance’s own 1.5 turbo with 136hp and 200nm will follow later.
