New spy shots show the American Jetta testing in China. Volkswagen is currently selling two Jetta’s in China: the ancient original and the European Jetta called Sagitair. Both are made by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. The American Jetta will be made by FAW-Volkswagen as well and will either succeed the Sagitair or will be a new addition to Volkswagen’s China line.

The Sagitair was listed in China in 2006 so a replacement should be on its way. But the European Jetta is a much more expensive car than the American Jetta. Volkswagen could replace the Sagitair and sell the American Jetta under yet another name. We have to wait and see.
