The BMW X1 is made in China by the Brilliance-BMW joint venture, production has started and the car will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. BMW will sell the X1 with the 2.0 turbo with 245hp mated to a 8-speed automatic. Making the X1 in China makes a lot of sense, the Chinese market continues to snap up suv’s in any shape and size. The X1 is the 3th BMW for the joint venture, they already make the 5 and 3-series.
