Honda has two main joint ventures in China. Guangzhou-Honda with Guangzhou Auto and Dongfeng-Honda with Dongfeng Motor. Guangzhou-Honda just kickstarted a new brand, Everus, which debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Honda now confirmed it will start another new brand, this time originating from Dongfeng-Honda. The first car will likely be based on the Dongfeng-Honda Civic. The yet nameless brand will be targeted at the same cheap end of the market as Everus. More cars, more competition…
